The Cashless System
In order to try and improve the service which we provide for you on the bar, The May Ball 08 will see the introduction of a voucher system, which be in operation across all areas.
Instead of using cash to pay for drinks across the bars, you will instead be required to purchase drinks vouchers either on the night (at the dedicated voucher sales points) or prior to the event. This will mean that you spend less time queuing at the bar and subsequently spend more time partying with your mates. The vouchers will come in £1, and £2.50 denominations and here's some examples of what you can get with each voucher (or combinations):
- £1 – Coke (glass) — (1x £1.00)
- £2.00 – Stella (draught) — (2x £1.00)
- £2.00 – Single Vodka & Coke — (2x £1.00)
- £2.50 – Single Vodka & RedBull — (1x £2.50)
- £3.00 – Double Vodka & Coke — (3x £1.00)
- £3.50 – Double Vodka & RedBull — (1x £1.00 + 1x £2.50)
The vouchers will be available alongside tickets for the event at all Students’ Union outlets as well as at the main Students’ Union reception and are only available to purchase in strips. If you over-spend on vouchers and have some left over when you get home, don’t worry; for two weeks after the event you will be able to use up any spare vouchers in any of the following Students’ Union venues:
- Keddies Store
- The Dome shop
- Artique
- Rotunda
- SUB
- Blends
